Deface a Deaf Decade is a puzzle that hides six statements. The six different phrases, written with the letters A through G, are hidden in melodies. Twelve different musicians say these phrases in eighteen different voices. The voices cut each other off and overlap. The piece begins with the idea of a deaf cafe and grows into the command of defacing a deaf decade. The language of the piece describes a revolution that dismantles an era of those unwilling to listen and pay attention. Hence the name Deface a Deaf Decade.
